MANDI FOREST
Amazon Rainforest
The Mandi Forest Project is a grassroots initiative led by young men from the Kichwa community of Pilche, created to protect the sacred Mandi Cocha Lake, located within their ancestral lands.
Mandi Forest is a community-driven effort focused on environmental conservation and youth empowerment.

Through dedicated training, these young community members have become native guides, offering visitors meaningful tours of the lake and its surrounding ecosystem.
These guided experiences provide guests with a unique and authentic perspective of the Amazon, rooted in local knowledge and cultural connection.
The project also includes environmental monitoring and stewardship efforts that raise awareness about biodiversity and the importance of protecting sensitive habitats.
By preserving their natural environment and sharing it with visitors, the initiative supports local livelihoods, instills community pride, and ensures that Mandi Cocha remains a thriving and protected area for future generations.
