GOLDEN SUSTAINABILITY
A sustainable and luxury experience in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands

Since 2018, Golden Experiences & Travel has placed sustainability at the core of its operations — a commitment now strengthened by our Certified B Corporation status.
We recognize that fragile ecosystems, such as the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon Rainforest, demand protection. Our corporate responsibility has evolved from this awareness: from simply operating in these regions to actively giving back to them in ways that meet the highest global standards of environmental and social performance.
Driven by a desire to contribute to a greater global purpose — the well-being of our planet — we created our sustainability initiative: Golden Sustainability Stewardship.
Through this ongoing program, we generate positive environmental and social impact across our carbon-neutral yachts and eco-conscious land operations, ensuring that every expedition reflects the B Corp ethos and supports conservation, community well-being, and a more responsible future for travel.

ENVIRONMENT
Giving Back
Leave only memories behind, not footprints | Green Luxury Travel Company
We lead green luxury with a clear purpose: to leave only memories behind, not footprints.
Through real, measurable actions, such as achieving carbon neutrality, responsible waste management, the use of biodegradable products, and the elimination of single-use plastics, we work to reduce our environmental impact and help protect the Galapagos and the Amazon for future generations.

As an active corporate member of Galapagos Conservation Trust, we are directly supporting their Shark/Ocean project to protect and save the ocean and its wildlife; combating three main environmental problems: Overfishing, Illegal fishing and Plastic pollution

We contributed to the Charles Darwin Foundation “adopt a species” by adopting a Galapagos penguin and each year our collaboration will grow.

We proudly took part in the Steve Irwin Wildlife Warriors Gala, supporting efforts to protect injured and endangered species. This inspiring event honors real conservation action and marks the beginning of a future partnership to scale wildlife protection worldwide.

We support the “Amando Galápagos” volunteer initiative, which has already led 30 cleanups on Santa Cruz Island to reduce pollution near key wildlife habitats. Now expanding, the project promotes plastic reduction in local communities to ensure long-term impact for nature and people.
COMMUNITY
All for them
Constant support for people in their communities
Sustainability means caring for both the environment and the people who call it home. We generate real opportunities for local communities by prioritizing local hiring, sourcing, fair wages, and entrepreneurship, creating a meaningful economic ripple effect in the Galapagos.
We’re also proud that over 60% of our team are women, reflecting our ongoing efforts toward inclusion and long-term social impact.

A new official Ally for UNICEF, we have recently partnered with UNICEF in their crucial fight against chronic childhood malnutrition in Ecuador.

Through our partners Galapagos Conservancy, we support their W.I.S.E. project (Women In Sustainability Entrepreneurship) supporting women growth within the community of Galapagos.

As partners of Pack for a Purpose, our guests can bring medical, home or school supplies to our local community.
Mandi Forest
The Mandi Forest Project, led by young men from the Pilche community, protects Mandi Cocha Lake through guided tours and environmental monitoring, offering guests an authentic experience while supporting local livelihoods and promoting long-term biodiversity awareness and stewardship.
Mandi Wasi
The women-led Mandi Wasi Project empowers local women from the Pilche community through handicrafts, cultural hosting, and cooking. Guests are welcomed to experience Amazon traditions, food, and daily life, fostering economic independence and preserving ancestral knowledge.
Pilche Development Hub
Nestled deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Pilche community has been an essential partner in the La Selva story from the beginning. With the Pilche Development Hub, we take the next step, not just working with the community, but building long-term resilience from within.
SMART DEVELOPMENT
All for them
Navigating toward the future
We believe nature is our greatest asset and protecting it is our responsibility. The Golden Sustainability program integrates innovative technologies across our vessels and lodge to reduce environmental impact in the Galapagos and the Amazon.
Our approach focuses on real, measurable actions involving our teams both in the field and at our offices, driving sustainable luxury tourism that is environmentally respectful, socially responsible, and forward-thinking.
Connections
Sustainability goes beyond reducing footprints; it’s about creating lasting connections. That’s why, through Connections, we bring together innovation, education, conservation, and local empowerment.
From high-speed connectivity for students to science-based action at sea, this is how we expand our impact.
Clean Energy & Water
Our hybrid energy and water systems cut diesel use by 30%, saving $12,285 yearly, reinvested in community projects, while providing safe, certified drinking water—proving sustainability powers every guest experience.
Zero Single Use Plastics
We’ve eliminated 80% of single-use plastics by replacing bottled water with refillable alternatives and installing refill stations across our ships and lodge, saving over 30,000 bottles annually. Guests receive waste reduction briefings, while our team tracks waste monthly by type. Through recycling, sorting, and continuous education, we aim to eliminate 90% of single-use plastics by 2027.
Smart Systems
Our vessels feature fuel-saving technologies, including anti-fouling paint and smart navigation systems, reducing fuel consumption by 15% while increasing efficiency and speed as part of our ongoing sustainable navigation efforts.
